Kitchen Cabinet Organization – Example 2

All of the drinks, food, kitchen tools, and kitchen supply items needed to be sorted and consolidated since they were scattered throughout all of the cabinets. The utensils were relocated to a smaller drawer with a more appropriate fit and also to better accommodate the boxed kitchen supplies including plastic bags, food wrapping materials, and aluminum foil. The majority of the drink and food items were organized into three adjacent base cabinets starting with the energy bars and cereals stored to the left. The cooking, baking, and canned goods can be found in the center base cabinet, and drinks to the right.

The next set of base cabinets houses the pots, pans, and other stovetop cooking accessories. Directly above the pots and pans and adjacent to the sink are the water bottles, drinking glasses, and ceramic mugs with the most used items located on the bottom shelf. Below the drinking items are four drawers with the relocated utensils stored in the top drawer. The second and third drawers hold sorted cooking and baking utensils in open trays and baskets. The fourth drawer holds lids for the pots and pans as well as measuring cups, slicers, and graters. The wall cabinets behind the sink contain pitchers, insulated coolers, food containers, mixing and serving bowls, and baking dishes. Below the sink are cleaning supplies separated into bins for easy access by sliding them out of the cabinet.

To the right of the sink and flanking the dishwasher are two narrow base cabinets holding cutting boards and baking pans. Located above the dishwasher are the bowls and plates. The wall cabinets above the microwave and range hold the remaining drinks and snack food including tea, coffee, nuts, and dried fruit. A few rarely used cookbooks are also stored above the microwave. The last wall cabinet now contains all of the spices, herbs, and seasonings on turntables. Also, the oils and vinegars along with the medicine in an open basket are located on the bottom and top shelves. The drawer below is adjacent to the exterior door and contains all of the grilling tools. The base cabinet below the last drawer holds relocated mixing and coffee appliances and supplies along with hanging potholders for the stove, oven, and grill. The last kitchen cabinet holds rarely used miscellaneous appliances.
