First drawer – writing utensils, paper, and a paint deck

Second drawer – assorted colored painter’s tape

Third drawer – assorted small tools

Fourth drawer – stir sticks, paint brushes, and roller frames

Fifth drawer – aprons, rags, toilet paper, paper towels, zippered plastic bags, and plastic trash bags

Artistic Finish Business Organization – Part 2

An artistic finishing business studio and supply area now has a color-coded client organization system in place for keeping project supply items in order. Stencils used for custom finishes have been sorted and numbered for a catalog of stencil options. Also, a stencil rack was custom designed by Designated Spaces to view and store stencils in an easily accessible location on the wall. Paint and other supplies have been sorted and stored in blue bins and on industrial shelves. Dividers have been added to the shelves to separate various types of paint and client project items.

Artistic Finish Business Organization – Part 1

An artistic finishing business needed office and shop organization to increase work flow and efficiency. Organizational systems have been implemented including a consolidated filing system and catalogs for standard product and services. A business handbook was compiled with employee guidelines, standard forms and procedures, client contracts, and product and services catalogs.

The office area needed a visible and accessible location for scheduling, client folders, records, and office and maintenance supplies. An industrial shelf holds the office and maintenance supplies. Whiteboards and vertical metal filing hang on the wall for scheduling and client information.

The lower level storage area of the artistic finish business needed adjustments in order to accommodate the constant flux of business supplies and product. The shelf on the left now holds supplies for the cash wrap including wrapping paper, bags, and boxes. The shelf to the right stores some maintenance supplies on the top shelf and products below.

Sewing Supply Organization

An accumulation of vintage sewing supplies including pins, needles, thread, yarn, and fabric needed serious sorting. Using an assortment of old and new organizing supplies, all of the sewing supplies are now sorted and easily accessible within open and closed containers. Some vintage tins now hold yarn, while new clear plastic containers house thread all sorted by color. Smaller tins and clear containers hold pins, needles, hooks, and snap closures. An open plastic tote holds the small supplies including buttons and fabric while a vintage sewing container holds sewing machine supplies and sewing patterns.
